Free Roaming throughout India: Cabinet approved new telecom policy 2012

The latest big news for all of us is that cabinet approved new telecom policy whose main aim is to provide mobile number portability and free roaming throughout India. Today's Kapil Sibal (Telecommunication minister)  has passed new telecom policy of 2012 with 5 major changes. But the main headline of this entire story is that the wait of free roaming across country is near to be over. I remember first date that I heard of free roaming was 1st January, 2012 and then the next was 26th January, 2012. After that we heard about 2 or 3 more deadlines but all was just rumors. This time we get something official and that is the new telecom policy 2012 which have been cleared with 5 changes. This telecom policy has the aim of two services. (i) MNP (Mobile Number Portability) and (ii) Free Roaming throughout India.

Idea and Airtel new/latest 3G Pack/plans Prices slashed by 70%

There is a good news for internet users and Airtel and Idea Customers.Idea and Airtel has reduced 3G prices in India by 70%. Last week Airtel announced cutting in price of 3G packs to encourage users to use 3G and now Idea also followed the same. Now both companies will charge 3 paise per 10 KB data usage instead of previous rates of 10 paise per 10 KB. Both companies are now offering 3G packs starting from Rs.10. In Rs.10 3G data plan, both operators are giving 30 minute browsing with 1 day validity. The highest pack of Airtel 3G is now of Rs.1500 offering 10 GB and Idea is of Rs.950 offering unlimited 3G data.
